Beef tallow, often referred to as cow fat, is currently gaining traction in the skincare realm, with celebrities and influencers touting it as the next big thing for achieving softer skin. However, while it does have some touted benefits, experts caution that the claims may be overstated.
According to dermatologists like Dr. Raja Sivamani, the advantages of beef tallowβsuch as its potential antioxidant properties and omega fatty acidsβare quite minimal. Despite its promotion as an all-natural skincare solution, its effectiveness remains largely unproven compared to conventional products. The high saturated fat content of tallow might not be suitable for everyone, particularly those prone to acne, as it can exacerbate certain skin conditions.
Though some tallow products may include vitamin A, which has retinol-like effects, the concentrations found in these products are typically far less than what is present in more established retinol formulations. Furthermore, while many tallow products market themselves as sustainable and wholesomeβoften labeling themselves as grass-fed or handmade in small batchesβthis portrayal can be misleading. A significant majority of the beef fat used in the U.S. is derived from factory-farmed livestock, which raises concerns about environmental impact and animal welfare.
For those interested in more ethical skincare alternatives, Dr. Sivamani recommends considering natural oils like cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil, virgin olive oil, coconut oil, and jojoba oil. Additionally, for a more effective retinol substitute, he suggests looking into bakuchiol-based serums.
In conclusion, while beef tallow is being marketed as an ethical and sustainable skincare option, the reality may reveal it to be less of a breakthrough and more of a marketing illusion that consumers should approach with caution.

lol it has all you need but itβs not goodβ¦ stfuβ¦ I love it, cleared up age spots!
I expect more from a wealthy dermatologist than words like can be or might be. Admit it, we don't have proper studies yet. When you buy a half cow with a big load of fat to process into candle oil and skin cream, the concerns fade away.
She made this entire video just so she could say the stupid line at the end.
I like it better than anything else ive used. My skin tone evened out. Coconut oil is comedogenic, hemp oil was drying. Unsaturated oils are unstable and go bad quickly anc I donβt think that great for you.
it is still ok than chemicals girl. so shut up
Dr Raja's religion highly prohibits killing beef/cow as they are their devine god. So how his observations justified. Where is the ground of neutrality
Santa cruz beef tallow rules..but nice try diddy.
Iβm not a scientist so I wonβt argue with facts. But I make my own tallow balm by mixing grass-fed grass-finished tallow with jojoba oil (for hydration), castor oil (for anti-microbial), and bakuchi oil (for anti-wrinkle).
This 4 ingredient homemade natural balm has tightened up fine lines, improved the texture and consistency of my skin and brightened overall complexion without dryness or acne – so zero complaints from this end.
Iβm no cover model but thereβs definitely a lively glow.
Beef tallow is good for everything. π

Untrue.
Thank you. I feel like this is the new fad used to be Coconut now itβs this one π I didnβt know anything about it and people were talking about it at work. I was skeptical so I appreciate you for explaining.
You sound like a paid shill paid by the industry, not wanting cheap and healthy alternatives to the toxic chemicals they sell for hundreds of dollars.
I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years and trust me, this stuff is the best!!
WARNING π«big pharma pay money to criticise all natural remedies…coz it eats into their prophets…and that raggid worn out word "experts" ha ha they sling out all the time..its a joke..π
"New" skin care craze? People have been using it on their skin for centuries.
I love tallow cream. Sheβs just biased β€
Tyson makes chicken not beef.
It seems like there are just a lot of biased takes on tallow coming from vegetarians and vegans, so take these videos with a grain of salt, do your own research and test these products for yourself.
You can actually buy grass fed organic beef Tallow. Have you ever tried Beef Tallow yourself? I have and it gives very good results. Another one is Emu Oil . Before you make comments why don't you actually try it for yourself π
