Video at the bottom!
In this engaging video, our host emphasizes the importance of skincare as a journey of progression over perfection, particularly as one navigates their 30s. With a friendly tone, they share their current skincare routine, focusing on various anti-aging products, techniques, and ingredients that have become significant as they approach their mid-30s.
They kick off the discussion by addressing a frequent topic of debate: eye cream. The host acknowledges some skepticism around these products, noting that while some may simply be repackaged moisturizers, others are specially formulated for the delicate skin under the eyes. They’ve found a noticeable difference through consistent use of an eye cream, particularly favoring the Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream, which is enriched with hydrating ingredients and antioxidants like niacinamide and peptides.
Moving on to another staple of anti-aging skincare, they discuss retinol—often labeled “boring” but essential. The host has committed to using retinol more diligently, particularly as scientific backing supports its effectiveness against signs of premature aging. They recommend starting with a gentler formulation, such as the COSRX 0.5% retinol, which combines retinol with squalane to mitigate dryness.
The conversation naturally segues to another critical element of any skincare regimen: sunscreen. The host emphasizes its necessity in safeguarding against sun damage and reversing the effects of various treatments. They advocate for a lightweight sunscreen like TOCOBO, which is easy to reapply throughout the day without feeling heavy on the skin.
Peptides also take center stage in the conversation. The host expresses their somewhat newfound appreciation for these ingredients, acknowledging a past hesitation towards their effectiveness. They explain that modern formulations have improved, making peptides more beneficial for stimulating collagen and elastin production, thus enhancing skin texture.
LED light therapy follows as an intriguing topic. Initially skeptical, the host shares their positive experiences using an LED mask for treating their rosacea and improving overall skin texture. They stress the importance of consistent use for visible results and suggest thorough research before choosing a device.
The discussion inevitably leads to Botox. The host has incorporated Botox and fillers into their routine, commending its effectiveness in reducing the visibility of fine lines and preventing deeper wrinkles. They encourage viewers to consult professionals and ensure they’re informed about any treatments they pursue.
Finally, the importance of antioxidants, particularly vitamin C, is highlighted. Despite past negative experiences with stingy formulations, the host acknowledges the undeniable benefits of vitamin C serums in fighting free radical damage. They provide modern alternatives that have proven more effective without undesirable side effects.
In conclusion, the host emphasizes their commitment to these skincare elements as they embrace the natural aging process. They invite viewers to share their own skincare routines and concerns, fostering a sense of community. The video wraps up with a shoutout to Style Korean for sponsoring the segment and encourages viewers to explore the linked products for deeper insights.

If you see this comment, please what is the peptide serum?
Why ur retinol looks clear, mine is yellowish. Idk why
vitamin c is useless
Melano cc vitamin c premium is very good and not irritating for me…..i got burned by a vit c face mask before lol
The cosrx retinol oil should be used before or after moisturizing? Or just by itself?
Any recommendations for a SPF for over makeup?
Is it necessary to use cosrx retinol only under 3 months just like ordinary retinol?
Guys do you know a good guide on how to start using retinol? I’m breaking out a bit so I think I’m doing something wrong
whats the toner you use before applying the eye cream?
I bought the Omnilux red light mask. I have/had great hopes about it after seeing Angie (from Hot n Flashy) RAVE about it. However, I’m finding that if I use it more than once a week, I break out in cystic acne. I’m 52 and still waiting for my “teenage” acne issues to leave forever! 😖😫
Peptides also helps with cells renovation.
Can you review the Paula’s choice 25% vitamin C serum that’s just come out – apparently they’re marketing it to people that hate vitamin C serums
Loved all of this ❤ I care James
Fillers do not stay where they were put – they move down the face over the years. Yes years – they do not desolve how they claimed to do.
Your mum might have helped you appreciate skin care so much! You should tell her thank you ❤️
James, Love your videos.. I am almost 40 now and haven't tried Retinol and I'm going to start now. My skin is pretty good and no crow's feet yet.. let's see how long that lasts. Can you help do a video about all the options like vitamin C vs amino acids vs retinol.. like when to use them and how often or which is better or should we use all and rotate them.
i use a lot of products based off your videos and i want to ensure i can improve and stay on track with maintaining my skin.
Anti Aging used to mean my Mom using “Oil of Olay” in the pink and black bottle. Now there are 700 options. I’ve purchased too much. What I got from this video was that filler and botox good if done well, sunscreen, retinol, peptides, vitamin C, eye cream, LED if not garbage mask. Motivated to get back to my Asian beauty routine with the actives layered in.
Vitamin C is an ingredient I love but it is DIFFICULT to use. You can't mix them with bhas, with ahas, with retinol … It's very very limited and you can't mix it with a lot of products.
James, I would love your opinion on Caudalie, esp. the Resveratrol line. I feel it gets a lot of hype abd I‘m unsure if I should try it.
Great video. Very informative ❤
I almost forgot about innisfree, at one point almost every product in my AM routine was theirs. On another note, speaking of peptides I use Good Molecules Super Peptide Serum as my last serum before moisturizer, this is my AM routine anti aging product. For my PM routine I go in with the Ordinary’s retinol serum and I like it just fine, minor purging phase and no dryness, irritation or sensitivity. I have seen a difference with these two products which I started at different times, so I could really see if I had any results. After 3 months of consistency I saw results. I did try other products/brands and for about two years was trying different things and these two work for me so I stick with them. Honestly it’s so difficult with these anti-aging products because to really see results you have to be consistent and use them for a decent amount of time. So I probably won’t be switching them out unless for whatever reason I feel that they’re not working for me anymore or at some point when I eventually will need to bump up my retinol.
If you do botox and fillers then what’s the point of reviewing skincare? We really can't trust you then cause it’s the botox and fillers what's keeping your skin young
I catch myself automatically rising my eyebrows and its giving me forehead wrinkles and I'm 26 ☠☠ would LOVE to get botox but I'm terrified of going to the wrong person and f**ing up my face ☠☠
I care 🙂
I love me some botox BUT its sooo expensive!!! $500 on my forehead 2 months ago and lines are already showing up again…Kids just wear the damn sunscreen instead! 🤣
Cmon James, if you talk about peptides then please refer people to “Buffet” by The Ordinary 👍🏻🙂
The tocobo was a good advice. However not sure about their sun stick with added cotton. Does cotton work together with a foundation on top? Feels wrong 🤷🏻♀️
I definitely care about looking after my skin, and even in my early thirties I am seeing a big difference between my skin and that of my peers due to me always wearing SPF. Even relatives younger than me look older because they don't use any kind of SPF.
I want to incorporate more steps into my skincare routine but I don't know how, I'm concerned about using products that shouldn't be used together, and I don't know what products to use to target my skincare concerns. It's all so daunting.
Atm I use a micellar gel wash morning and night, followed by a Simple toner, Simple eye cream, and a Simple moisturiser in the evening or SPF in the morning. Sometimes I use a brightening serum but I really don't know if it is making a difference. I was also using a cosrx BHA three times a week but have gotten a little lax on it for some reason so I'll probably have to build my way back up to being able to use it so frequently again.
Can we just call them age inclusive products? At 58, it would be nice to feel included 😊
James I used the Somebymi Retinol intense eye cream and the skin around my eyes turned red and stung, within 3nights of use 😭😩 what do you put on broken skin?
tanx james …more such videos ….so much knowledge which we dont knew about it ….loved to be a part of ur journey …. lots of love from INDIA … pls make more such videos …from this videos uh have clear my perception for vitamin c as its gone so viral …
James, what is going on here? Don't use retinOls! Use retinAls or granactive retinoids unless you are going for tretinoin! Jeeeeeeez…
You hate vitamin c..what about Q10 serums or resveratrol and/ or ferulic acid or vitamin e for antioxidant properties?
Also now that you’re mentioning LED, Foreo Ufo also has LED, I remember you reviewing that shortly/talking about it once
James, what would you recommend as an alternative for retinol? It’s not talked about enough but in some cases, it can worsen or even cause dry eyes (last one mostly when it comes to medical usage or high potency etc.) and I’ve not only met people to whom that happened but I experienced it myself. I also have sicca syndrome since a year and whenever I use retinol on my face, leaving the eye area out, my eyes burn sooo badly. Any ideas for alternatives? Would be very happy to hear some ☺️
u can try misshaa vita c ampoule james ..its very good and doesn't sting at all because it has vita c in laposomy form so its mild but effective as well 😊
The reason you fall asleep under led is because it stimulates melatonin 😂 that’s why I feel that way too so I googled it 😂
