Video at the bottom!
Hey everyone! If you’re new here, I’m Penny, a master esthetician based in Portland, Oregon. Today, I’m excited to delve into some innovative skincare discussing the entire Defin line, a product group that many of you have been curious about.
Let’s kick things off with a before-and-after photo of a client who improved significantly over six weeks using these products. You can see noticeable enhancements in her skin’s tone, texture, and laxity, along with a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
Now, what sets the Defin line apart? It all centers around a master stem cell known as LGR6-positive. This cell plays a crucial role in skin development while we’re in utero before entering dormancy in our hair follicles post-birth. It only reactivates when there’s a wound, prompting the production of fresh skin cells. Importantly, this master stem cell doesn’t experience aging or damage, making its response to healing incredible.
The Defin line incorporates defensins, which are signaling peptides, synthesized and included to communicate with that master stem cell without requiring an actual wound. When applied topically, even without an injury, it effectively prompts skin rejuvenation.
It’s important to note that skincare claims can often be exaggerated, but Defin has backed its efficacy with substantial research. Initial pilot studies led to a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 45 women aged 41 to 71. The results showcased measurable improvements using advanced imaging and biopsy techniques, rather than just subjective assessments.
The key findings included significant enhancements in skin hydration, reduced oiliness, minimized pore appearance, and overall improved skin conditions without inflammation, which is vital for anti-aging.
Unlike growth factors that might not be suitable for everyone, Defin’s signaling peptides are safer alternatives. They signal the master stem cell without overstimulating other processes.
Now, let’s break down how I’m integrating these products into my routine:
-
Cleansing: I use the gel cleanser both morning and night, which effectively removes makeup without needing a double cleanse.
-
Night Routine: On alternating nights, I incorporate copper peptides followed by the barrier cream and then the Defin serum, taking care to apply the barrier first to maximize the benefits of the antioxidants.
-
Eye Cream: The eye cream is effective, and I use it sparingly around the lid and under my eyes.
-
Exfoliation: The Two-Minute Reveal Mask is a standout product for mild manual exfoliation and leaves my skin feeling soft.
- Daily Routine: My morning routine mirrors my night routine but is adjusted with either copper peptides or vitamin C for additional glow before applying the Defin products.
It’s worth mentioning that I avoid mixing certain products with others, particularly those containing copper peptides and vitamin C.
If you’re intrigued, feel free to reach out for more information about the Defin line or consult with the office where I work for purchasing options.
Thanks for tuning in! I hope this breakdown helps clarify the benefits and uses of the Defin product range, and I look forward to sharing more skincare insights in future videos. Take care!

Hi everyone!!! Something that is SO important is that this product is a treatment and can be used for 6 weeks and then back to regular skincare. You do not have to use this forever! It might change your perspective on the price (I know it does for me).
I plan to use it for 12 weeks to correct pigment but there are many examples of incredible results (that last) after using the product for one “round” of 6 weeks.
If you want more info Dr Abraham can help you via the email I provided in the description box 💜💜💜
I’m in my 70s and have been using Defenage for three years. My skin is healthy, tight, almost no fine lines. I wish I had before/after pix. All the Defenage products are outstanding and worth every cent. Note >> With Defenage there is NO need for additional skin care products. If you ask Defenage (fabulous customer service) they’ll tell you there’s no need for multiple products. You do not need retinol type products or copper peptides. Defenage does say (see package) that dry skin may like a moisturizer but that’s all. Of course each to her own but just sticking with Defenage on a regular basis is good news for those of us who prefer to not spend additional hundreds.
Hello! How much I have to apply in skin with each product?
You are just amazing with sharing, organizing products and so much info about each. Thank you 😊
Sounds similar to NeoGenesis. Have you tried NeoGenesis, and if you have, what are your thoughts in comparison to this product line?
Penn!!! I have the opportunity to buy this from the place I go (the medical version) at 30%off over thanksgiving weekend…. I’m gonna splurge and do it.
Penny, I have a question: I am using a prescription cream at night to lighten my melasma. Can I use DefenAge products affter I apply the prescription cream? Thank you!!!
Did it help marionette lines
Thank you for this info! We just picked up the line and I’m blown away by their research and the pt RESULTS!
First and foremost, thanks so much for taking the time to share and expand upon your wealth of knowledge. I'm a huge fan. I love Defenage and I've recently become aware of Defenage Pro. Is there such a significant increase in denfensin concentration where it would be logical to skip the original formulation? Are results greater? Faster? I've researched and have been unable to find clinical data, with respect to the Pro line.
What is the difference between this and OneSkin?
Sorry, one more question) what do you think about The Ordinary copper peptides? Does it big different compere to others brands or same as well? What you will choose?
Hi, thank you so much for your all work, videos for us , you are great and highly professional!
I have one question and please don’t understand me wrong, but i little bit confusing about what products you really use in daily routine for yourself. Different videos – you love another different products. If person love how you look, like your choice and advice and if person will want just buy products that you use for daily routine, so what products exactly?
Regards.
Tried DEFENAGE, not worth the money!
Use primaskin with this?
Do you have any free samples or trials of anti-aging skin care? I'm not very…wealthy as I live in a nursing facility in the US.
Well, does this master stem cell activate to create new skin with microneedling?
Idk, maybe I've jumped the gun with this question.. I've just begun to watch this video, and maybe the answer will be revealed later in the video.
I'm with you about the smell of the scented products with this line. It reminds me of cigarettes for some reason? IDK but don't love the smell and actually stopped using it because of that. I will try and start using it again now that I see the awesome results. Thanks so much Penny!!!
This product did nothing for me. I used as directed and didn't see a difference at all. Total waste of money!
Wow… I don't think I've ever been more intrigued in a skincare product/ingredient in a long time. I've never even heard of this ingredient or science before. Why isn't this discussed more?
Hi Penny,
Not sure if you will see this question. But i was wondering if you know – if LGR6+ stem cells are located along the hair follicle… will laser hair removal cause issues with the skin's ability to heal itself?
Are you still using this?
I’ve been using DefenAge for about 5 years. I sell it in my medspa. I agree with your review, great job explaining DefenAge.
I'm a medical Aesthetician at a prominent medical spa in Davie Florida…. and discovering you have helped me alot. So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart ❤
400.00 for defendage. Very expensive trio. The sample kit is almost 60.00 for a 2 or three day supply. I don't know that alot.
Curious if you’ve used these products with your Droplette and if so did you get good results?
I really like this product line, I used it now three times. I only add tretinoic acid at night 3-4 times a week. I was looking at the study, do you know why they used 2: 1 ratio in their sample population? There were 31 subjects in the full formula and 15 in the placebo. It does not explain why they did so and not use a 1:1 which should be the way to do a proper randomized trial . Also what is interesting is that even patients in the placebo side had some benefits too. Do you have any insights on this?
Hi! First, I love your channel, I’m a huge nerd and love how you break everything down. I was wondering if you can offer your opinion. I am 50 and feel like I blinked and aged 5 years. I’ve watched your videos on Denfenage and Emepelle, which would you suggest or do you think that they work differently and both would be better? lol
If I was going to get both, how would you incorporate it into a routine? Thanks! 😊
What do you prefer DefenAge or Emepelle?
Can you recommend affordable beginner micro current machines? Thanks
Are you still using these products?
Hi Penny, Hope you see this question!
I see your pin that this product should be used for 6 weeks then can break away from it. I have seen others continue to use it. Is it safe to continue to use it? Especially for wrinkles etc. And would there be added benefit to continue use (with or without breaks?)
Hi Penny! What is your opinion on high frequency machines? Can they be used if you have filler? Are they safe to use if you have melasma or pigment issues? Do you recommend HF machines overall?
HER EYES ARE THE PRETTIEST I HAVE EVER SEEN !!!!!!
@pennsmith will this help with melasma?
Where I can buy it in EU? Or perhaps some USA webshop is shipping it to EU?
Hi Penn. I think you discovered Emepelle after you did this video. Would love to know if you’ve kept your routine w/ Defenage & added Emepelle & how you did that. Thanks!!!
Penny! Thank you so much for this video. Would you by chance have a promo code for the defenage product?
Hi Penny, how did this work out for you? I just ordered it…. 🙂
Hi penny I have the 8 in 1 serum….the say if your fitting it in to your skincare routine that your already using….to apply it last after everything is that correct?
Just wondering if you are still using this. I have done 3 rounds of six on six off and seen what could be improvement, but not sure if it justifies the price tag. Your thoughts? Thanks Penn
The best skin I ever had was from having retin A for acne, along with tretinoin gel… after six months my skin was like a peach. It was incredible.. obviously you can’t take retin A forever, but a dermatologist told me if a cream has a direct action on the skin, it must be regulated as a pharmaceutical and must be prescribed, if it has no discernible action on the skin then it can be sold over the counter… so anything you can purchase without a prescription is not worth the money.
I’m so sorry but I could barely see a difference in the first picture..
The question should be what aren't you using ☺ …
Those before and after pictures are terrible…
When we microneedling does LGR6+ come to heal the mico injuries?
I'm intrigued, to say the least, and I trust your your judgment. But they are very expensive. And to send them to me, here in Greece, it will cost me my whole salary.
Then what will happen if I like the products, how will I buy them again and how will I get them? I have to sell my house, my children, five liters of my blood and some vital organs as well … maybe a kidney.
For an every day woman, this is a lot, a huge amount, of money…
I just today received my tiny little starter kit from Defenage with the mask, the barrier cream and the serum. They're tiny samples but I think it'll give me an idea about the line before committing.
Wow! Wonderfully explained. Would love to purchase but not in my budget. You did a great job on selling it and you deserve a kickback for this well done video. You should be there spokeswoman 😜
