Video at the bottom!

In this engaging session, Tessa Zolly, a licensed esthetician based in California, shares an insightful nighttime routine focused on anti-aging and acne care. With her extensive expertise as a skincare blogger, YouTuber, and podcaster, Tessa is currently developing her skincare line and runs a virtual consulting practice.

She begins by introducing the first step in her cleansing routine: Bioderma Micellar Water, applied on clean skin using a biodegradable towel. This step effectively lifts away dirt, debris, oil, and sunscreen. Tessa emphasizes a gentle approach, especially around the eyes, and explains her preference for cream cleansers over oil cleansing, arguing that the largest molecules should be applied last for optimal product penetration.

For her first cleanse, she uses the Peptide Cleanser from Glymed Plus, highlighting its luxury and efficacy. This rich formula, packed with vitamins and peptides, is gentle yet effective. Tessa encourages her clients to spend at least a minute cleansing to ensure thoroughness, particularly focusing on areas prone to congestion, like the jawline and T-zone.

Next, she follows up with a gel cleanser, the Eminence Stone Crop Gel Wash, using a Foreo Luna 2 for a deeper clean. She praises the gel’s mildness and encourages those with sensitive or acne-prone skin to avoid harsh ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate, which can strip the skin.

Tessa shares her preference for using cool water when cleansing to maintain skin moisture and avoid irritation, a crucial tip for those with conditions like rosacea. She incorporates a toner, Glymed’s Skin Recovery Mist, stating that it balances pH and preps the skin for subsequent products.

After cleansing and toning, Tessa indulges in a mask — Glymed Plus Anti-Aging Exfoliant Mask — that beautifully combines chemical and light physical exfoliation. She highlights how glycolic and salicylic acids can treat both anti-aging and acne, emphasizing the importance of regular exfoliation for all skin types.

Following the mask, Tessa stresses the importance of hygiene by patting her skin dry with a clean towel and misting it again with the recovery spray. She then introduces Fulvic Elixir, an antioxidant powerhouse that hydrates and heals, suitable for all skin types.

Her skincare cocktail consists of a professional CBD booster mixed with Gel Plus Intense Peptide Moisturizer. Tessa elaborates on the benefits of CBD and the importance of peptides in rebuilding the skin’s foundation. She suggests incorporating facial massage techniques during moisturizer application to enhance circulation and lymphatic drainage.

Tessa doesn’t forget the lips, applying Tatcha’s Kisu Lip Mask, which nourishes with squalane. She shares a cautionary tale regarding lash serums, discussing potential side effects from prostaglandin analogues. Instead, she advocates for a natural approach using cold-pressed castor oil for lashes and brows.

As Tessa wraps up her routine, her skin glows, reflecting the efficacy of her carefully curated regimen. She invites viewers to connect with her on social media platforms, encouraging a communal journey toward healthier skin. With her engaging delivery and expert tips, Tessa fosters a deeper understanding of skincare while highlighting the importance of personalized routines in achieving optimal results.

Big thank you to Tessa for sharing her knowledge! I had never heard about the issue she mentioned with lash growth serums, so I double-checked it with a couple dermatologists and it’s TRUE. It’s not a concern for everyone but if you have deep set eyes, you might want to consider skipping lash serums with the ingredient she mentioned.

Triple cleanse, foreo, mechanical exfoliation, shower two times a day… My oily dehydrated skin will be soooo oily and with cloged pores with extrame texture. When i stoped acids, retinol and started using a lot of hydration and closing it with hemp seeds oil WOW my skin is so plump, clean pores and no oilines. In the morning i am like "the is nothing to wash", and earlier i was usuing cerave clenser two times because it still felt oily (i would say waxy) after the first time. One thing i totally agree is CDB!!!! WOW THIS THING!!! It healded my hormonal and health problems and a lot of skin problems on my and my family bodies, not only on faces. But! If you are going to put in on your face! Remember CBD is just extract wich they can put in qny oil, even coonut oil. Which is fine oral but veeeery bad for most of people faces. So just read what it says on the box. The best for oily or acne skin would be if CBD extract is in hemp seeds oil.

I use the oil "cleanse" as a make-up remover because many others irritate my sensitive skin. I actually use plain grape seed oil you buy in the grocery store. I put it all over and then wipe it off several times with damp soft washcloths. Once that's removed then I rinse it well and wash my face with a face wash. Maybe a mask. Then very gentle toner. Then hyaluronic acid serum. Then moisturizer.

I absolutely hate water dripping down my wrists. When I’m in a pinch and can’t shower I’ll put bulky scrunchies on my wrists to prevent that water drip.

I get my oil cleansers completely off with a gel cleanser and sometimes a foaming cleanser.

Cleansing oil is different than a topical oil. It binds to the oil in our skin and contains surfactants so that it can pull away sebum, oil based products from our pores and not leave a residue. Some can but most don't. In fact I'd say not using one makes it hard to remove the oils from our skin because the water cleansers don't bind to oil so our topicals won't soak in well. However in a micellar water like she used, it contains oil that is binded to water so the oil in that cleanser is attaching to the oil on our skin and clearing it away. But there is a huge difference between an oil cleanser and a oil serum or topical product.

I can't help but hear as the point to this video is choose/ buy the " cream cleanser" over Oil Cleansing, because this cream cleanser you see being used that is exclusive to estheticians only to try sell to any new potential client's is better and more effective. It's very expensive too 🙄💸 .

I love oil cleansing as my first cleanse. My skin has improved so much since starting oil cleansing. I have oily, acne prone skin and it doesn't break me out at all. After my second cleanse, I don't notice any film left behind – my face feels fresh and clean.

I hate the water dripping down my arms too! Especially when using my Foreo… I found a great fix for it though!! I put a scrunchie on each wrist when washing my face at the sink and that stops the dripping!
