Video at the bottom!
In today’s video, I’m excited to share my highly requested morning and night skincare routines, detailing each step and product I use. Let’s dive right in!
Morning Routine:
Upon waking up in my bathroom, I often start with a gentle approach to cleansing my skin. If you have oily skin, washing your face in the morning can feel refreshing. However, for those with dry or sensitive skin, cleansing isn’t always necessary; you can simply begin with micellar water or toner. Personally, I only cleanse at night but I do exfoliate gently two to three mornings a week using the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. This physical exfoliant not only lifts dead skin cells but also helps vitamins absorb better into the skin. I mix this powder with water to create a paste, applying it gently to my face before letting it sit for about 10 to 18 minutes.
After rinsing, I use a cotton ball with alcohol-free witch hazel, swiping it across my face, and also treating my neck and hands with the same care. Following this, I apply my vitamin C serum, the SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic, which is a gold standard for vitamin C with a 15% concentration of L-ascorbic acid. It’s crucial to apply only three to five drops to avoid oxidation. After a 10-minute wait, I follow up with an eye cream — the Cetaphil hydrating eye gel cream with hyaluronic acid adds a cooling sensation and hydration.
For hydration, if my skin feels particularly dry, I might use the Osea Hyaluronic Acid C serum. Finally, I conclude my morning routine with SPF, alternating between Murad’s Correct and Protect mineral SPF 45 and Bloom Effects’ mineral SPF 50, making sure to apply enough for adequate protection.
Night Routine:
Returning to my skincare routine in the evening, it’s vital to start with cleansing to remove the day’s impurities. If I wore makeup, I would first use an oil-based cleanser like the Juno Skin Clean 10 Cleansing Balm, followed by a water-based cleanser such as the Nori Vital Foaming Cleanser. This double-cleanse technique is essential for ensuring all traces of makeup and dirt are gone.
Then, I move to exfoliation. While some people are exploring skin cycling, alternating retinoids and chemical exfoliants, I prefer to use them in the same night as long as my skin isn’t overly sensitive. My go-to chemical exfoliants are the StriVectin daily reveal pads and Dr. Dennis Gross AHA/BHA pads.
Next, it’s time for eye cream again, where I might rotate to something cooling like the Instant Koxi eye cream for dark circles. I also apply a thin layer of Aquaphor around my nose for any irritation from retinoids. Speaking of retinoids, I use a full pea-sized amount, dabbing it around my face to ensure even coverage. Lastly, I wrap up my routine, knowing I don’t need a moisturizer on top unless my skin requires it.
That’s a thorough overview of my morning and night skincare routines! If you have any questions or want further details on specific products or techniques, feel free to ask. Thank you for joining me today!

Would anything change if your primary complaint is redness?
Hi! Great video! I have a question: when you use hyaluronic acid after vitamin c do you have to wet the skin before you apply it? I hear people say hyaluronic acid can make your skin drier if applied on dry skin, but I don't want to take off the vitamin c serum accidentally.
PL say the name of cleanser at night time 😃
This is Gonna b so Good🔥🔥🔥👍n Happy Wednesday😀….
Hi Jillian! Thanks for the video. Do you use retinol or another type of retinoid?
Hi Jillian ! So happy to see you here 🙂 Love this routine, so simple yet effective. Would love to see your AM/PM melasma routine ❤ Happy New Year from Canada 🎉
with the dermalogica I see casandra bankson put it in a contain and whips it up like fluffy egg
Hi , retinoids are too harsh for me. We have similar sensitive, dehydrated acne prone skin. Skin ceuticals vit c serum is so expensive, I really wish for an affordable lovely reasonable priced routine am/pm for tight/dehydrated , sensitive acne prone skin aging as 40 . Wish for a glowy , youthful complexion even toned and brighter.
