Video at the bottom!
In the latest video, Pennie, a master esthetician based in Portland, Oregon, dives deep into a budget-friendly anti-aging skincare routine. This episode centers around a single question from viewer Christine Soto, who asked for a list of effective products and facial tools suitable for the face, neck, and chest—all while being cost-effective.
Pennie emphasizes the importance of a solid cleansing routine and suggests starting with a double cleanse in the evening. For the first cleanse, she recommends Physicians Formula’s Perfect Matcha Cleansing Balm, which she describes as an effective and pleasant option for breaking down makeup. For the second cleanse, she leans towards La Roche-Posay’s Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser, which is gentle and budget-friendly, lasting for a long time.
After cleansing, Pennie stresses the need for targeted treatments, particularly at night. She introduces JJ Labs’ Onyx Serum, which combines tranexamic acid, arbutin, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid—ingredients aimed at brightening and addressing pigmentation issues. For those looking for a retinoid, she recommends La Roche-Posay’s Adapalene, a retinoid option at around $30, noting that there are also other affordable options available.
For hydration and moisture retention, Pennie suggests the Hada Labo Perfect Gel, which is hyaluronic acid-based. To lock in moisture, she highlights a lightweight occlusive moisturizer with squalane and niacinamide from La Roche-Posay as well as a peptide cream from Cos De Baha.
Moving to the daytime routine, Pennie advises using the same or similar cleansers to simplify the process. For hydration, she suggests incorporating a niacinamide toner that helps stabilize the skin’s barrier. On specific days, she recommends using an acid toner with glycolic and salicylic acids for gentle exfoliation.
A standout recommendation is the dermatology-tinted moisturizer SPF 46. This sheer sunscreen claims to work for a variety of skin tones and is packed with beneficial ingredients.
Pennie makes a compelling case for incorporating TCA peels into an at-home routine, asserting that they can provide significant anti-aging benefits without requiring extensive downtime.
The video not only offers a robust guide for those on a budget but also ensures that viewers can adapt the routine based on their specific skincare needs. Pennie vows to list all the products discussed, including their prices in the description box, demonstrating that effective skincare doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. This comprehensive guide aims to empower viewers in making informed decisions about their skincare while navigating anti-aging concerns.

❤️😘
Thankyou for your consideration regarding those of us who are on a budget
Bless you❤️💋🙏🇬🇧
I really enjoy your videos
There were a lot of big words that I didnt quite understand. I didn’t hear you say anything in particular for wrinkles under my eyes. I’m 53 and have very fair skin. No smoking and no sun. Just now starting to notice under eye wrinkles that are really bad when I smile. PLEASE give me a product that will help these wrinkles. Thanks so much!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for putting all this information together! Would you consider doing an updated/current version of this video? Also, I noticed that the Differin and Adapelene, as well as the Hado Labo gel all contain parabens. 🙈
I love all your videos so much, I've learned a lot! Could you please make a video for a routine or products for oily skin/acne/large pores (budget or regular)? I've seen a lot of recommendations for dry or combo skin, but I'd love to hear more of your suggestions for oily skin as well! Thanks!
So do you recommend differen over the granactive emulsion from the ordinary?
Thanks for your videos! Love them! Quick question: you mentioned using a Vitamin C serum and a retinoid/retinal at night…I’ve heard that you’re not supposed to use Vit C and retinol together. Thoughts? xo
Hi, Penny and everyone else! Question is the Cos De Baha toner good for normal to oily skin? Will it help treat sebum? I just ordered Paulas Choice BHA 2% but now considering canceling and ordering this due to price…
Not a thing from CeraVe???? Wow. Great skincare on a real budget, and you don't have to pay for shipping. Walmart, Target, etc.
Cos de Baha is a good product and definitely budget friendly too.👍👍
COS DE BAHA best brand for me
The Dermalure TCA is out of stock. They have the neutralizer. Can you recommend another TCA peel?
I’m hesitant to try the Cos de Baha products though because of the plant extracts (e.g. thyme, eucalyptus) which can cause sensitivity. 🤔
Thank you so much for this!!!
Omg, I tried to find you and could not remember your name!!! Searched multiple times various searches and finally came to this video yay!!!!!!!you are awesome❤️ subscribed.
Hi Penny! I'm kinda new to your channel and have been viewing every chance I get. My daughter in law would like a anti aging regime for her very sensitive skin. So that is what I plan on getting her for Christmas. She is 44 and the only thing she puts on her face is the Clinique yellow moisture lotion and in the summer the jergens sunless face lotion. She says everything else stings. Oh, and she doesn't like anything oily. My skin is much tougher than hers & I'm at a loss of what to get her that can help with wrinkles and that is also budget friendly for her sensitive skin. Any recommendations would be greatly helpful & appreciated!
Much thanks 😊
Hi Penn, is it safe to put Cos De Baha Niacinamide 10% Serum after using Dr Pen M8 at depth .5, the next day?
Hi Penny! I love your channel! I wonder if you have alternatives for Baha? and the brand you mentioned for day cream? I live in Luxembourg so French & German markets should be available from here.. Thanks !
Can you use the CDB peptide serum at night with either copper peptides or retinol? Same concern with the dear skin tranx, which contains vitamin c. Confused regarding peptides (is the contraindication copper only) and vitamin A mixing with vitamin c.
