Video at the bottom!
In this video, skincare expert Chris Gibson shares an easy five-step anti-aging skincare routine designed for all skin types. He emphasizes the importance of starting an anti-aging regimen around the age of 25, as cellular turnover slows with age.
Step 1: Cleansing
The routine starts with cleansing, which is critical for maintaining clean, hydrated skin. For oily skin, a foaming clarifying cleanser is recommended—look for glycerin and sorbitol-based products. Those with normal to dry skin should opt for a creamy face wash that cleans without over-drying. Chris points out that a squeaky clean feeling can indicate that your skin’s natural oils have been stripped away.
Step 2: Serum
The next step involves applying a serum tailored to your specific skin concerns. Depending on your needs, you may choose an exfoliating serum like glycolic acid, or a targeting serum such as alpha arbutin for dark spots or niacinamide for acne. Chris particularly highlights the importance of incorporating a Vitamin C serum as an anti-aging essential. This ingredient protects against free radicals, brightens the complexion, and aids in cellular turnover.
Step 3: Moisturizer
Next, a moisturizer is vital for locking in hydration. For oily or normal skin, a water-based moisturizer is recommended. Those with sensitive skin should choose fragrance-free products, while dry skin types should look for creams containing ceramides or fatty acids to enhance the skin’s lipid barrier.
Step 4: Sunscreen
Daytime application of sunscreen is crucial, regardless of the season. Chris advocates for wearing mineral sunscreens, particularly those made by Elta MD. He emphasizes that even in winter, UV protection is necessary.
Step 5: Retinol at Night
The final step is applying a retinol or retinaldehyde product at night. This helps to accelerate cellular turnover and combat signs of sun damage and aging. Chris advises being cautious when combining Vitamin C with retinol, as skin sensitivity varies—if irritation occurs, consider applying them at different times.
Chris concludes by encouraging viewers to listen to their skin and adapt their routine accordingly while stressing that consistency and proper product selection are keys to achieving beautiful skin.

Great info! Is it ok to use peptide with vitamin C?
Great video as usual Chris. I have mature dry, sensitive skin. I am using The ordinary Niacinamide do I still need a Vit C serum too?
Hey Chris have you tried the Solo wave want?
Thats just what I need!!! Thanks, you rock and so does your giveaway
I dropped down and all I see are comments and that's it. Thank You, you look great. I'm at that stage where my arms are starting to literally fall off in patches and if a bug bites me it looks like I've been in a fist fight 😆
When you say you will list what products you suggest I have no idea where to look for them. I'm 62 and sensitive skin, red head, and I'm aging by the minute 😆
I use Avene Physiolift eyes, but its texture is not creamy, in fact it leaves my eye contour drier than usual, so I apply Vaseline on top of the Physiolift eyes, is it okay to do that or is it a mistake???
Thank you I've been using the Olay collegen peptide cream cleanser Wich also has niacinamide in it. It works well for me. Then at night I use the Olay retinol face cleanser. Walmart also has the equat on some of the name brand products with the same ingredients and they are so much cheaper if anyone is on a tight budget ☺️.

Merry Christmas Chris. Wow your skin looks amazing. You literally have no neck wrinkles!! I'm 41 and I use a lot of neck creams and I still have the wrinkles. Please tell me what u do,! You should have more subscribers. Your amazing and honest. Love ya

Solstice Blessimgs Chris! Hoping you & the family have a super holiday!
I DO use my Vit. C serum with my retinol moisturizer but I do my Hyluronic Acid serum layer between. The amount of retinol in the moisturizer is small & it has coenzyme Q10 in it as well.
Thanks CG for your wonderful video ❤️🇮🇳
Please try to include cruelty free products, I won’t use creams & potions that have been tested on poor innocent creatures . Thank you
Ho Ho Ho Chris. Love your channel. I find your recommendations very helpful. Merry Christmas
Sure beats all those steps from the video I dropped here the other day. My question is what to do for dry scalp, happened after a bout of lice, ugh, from my son and it is still dry. Any remedies? Thx Chris!

Hi Chris,
What is your opinion on Trader Joe’s tea tree face wash?
I treated myself to my first ever adapelene on Amazon and OMG after only a week I can see a huge change in my lines, pigmentation and millia. I've been fighting a loosing battle with millia for over 25 years. I've tried everything and niacinamide and glycolic acid works to a degree but never fully shifts them. Adapelene really gets in there and I'm so excited to see what my skin will look like in a year 😲 I recommend putting a moisturizer on first if you're starting adapelene or any prescription strength retinol. I've got really tough skin and even I got stinging a couple of nights. Thankfully it's subsided. I use aquaphor around the mouth and eyes too.
If applicable, can you do a video as to why you prefer mineral sunscreen over chemical? I wear Japanese chemical sunscreens because they are undetectable under makeup. 😬
Chris this was great. I do feel you can anti age at ANY age. I just showed a Before & After that was of a client that was so aged and her skin was so damaged and in less than a month the results were incredible! My point it is never to late🙌🏻
Merry Christmas Chris and everyone here 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa
I like these shorcut routines for sure. Very helpful!
