Video at the bottom!

In recent years, there’s been a surge in sleep aids designed to combat sleep wrinkles—those lines that can appear on your face from pressing against a pillow at night. From specially designed pillows with cutouts to anti-wrinkle sleep masks and patches, it’s a whole new market dedicated to preventing overnight skin creases. But do these products really work?

As a journalist with a focus on anti-aging, I decided to test various options and share my experience. Sleep wrinkles are a real concern, primarily due to the loss of collagen and elasticity in our skin as we age. Side-sleeping or sleeping on your stomach can exacerbate this issue, leading to sagging and lines, particularly around the eyes. While sleeping on your back is ideal for avoiding these wrinkles, many find it uncomfortable.

I began my journey with the Sealy spinal alignment pillow to alleviate neck stiffness, and while it did help reduce fluid buildup around my eyes, it wasn’t a complete solution. During a holiday stay at a rental home with overly soft pillows, I noticed significant puffiness and creasing upon waking, which made me more aware of my pillow’s impact on my skin.

This led me to try silk pillowcases, specifically from Lily Silk, which has been a popular choice. These pillowcases are made from high-quality Mulberry silk that reduces friction compared to cotton, potentially helping to minimize wrinkles. The brand’s certifications offer confidence in their product quality. Although a bit high-maintenance, I found they hold up well even with cool machine washes.

I also experimented with Zimasilk pillowcases from Amazon, which are more budget-friendly. While they were advertised at similar prices, they often go on sale, making them more accessible.

Recently, I upgraded to an anti-wrinkle foam pillow from Sleep and Glow. This multifunctional pillow is designed to keep your face free from pressure while allowing for comfortable side-sleeping. Initially, adjusting to the firmness resulted in some neck discomfort, but I soon noticed improvements in my neck stiffness and a reduction in puffiness around my eyes.

In contrast to quick-fix silicone patches, which can become costly and not environmentally friendly, I found lasting benefits with the foam pillow and silk cases. An eye mask from Dr. Harris, made from Mulberry silk and featuring raised silicone dots, offered another interesting alternative for wrinkle prevention.

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts. Do you use any special pillows or silk cases? Or do you prefer patches or eye masks? Share your experiences in the comments below. I hope you found my insights useful. If so, consider giving this video a thumbs up and subscribing for more content. Next week, I’ll be discussing the long-term effects of Botox with aesthetic specialists. Thanks for watching, and see you next time!

I had facial fat injections that turned out great, but now several years later the left side of my face is still plump and great looking and the right side is obviously deflated. from sleeping on my right side. Wish I'd bought one of these pillows sooner; it's not just temporary smoosh lines–it's fat loss. Don't wait til you can see it, just know it's a real thing.

I bought the Omnia pillow and it is not worth it, it’s as uncomfortable as it is expensive , it feels hard when using it, gives me a headache and I keep waking up all night long to adjust it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

I've been using a pillow headband from Amazon for about a week. It cost about $10 and keeps your face off the pillow. I am surprised how comfortable it is and i drift off to sleep.

Your channel is not honest at all! I bought this pillow after you recommended I still get up with sleep wrinkles! The reason is simple: when you sleep, you move around and it's impossible to sleep all the time only where the "hole" is. It's a waste of money, I'm going to return mine, beware: you still have to pay for shipping. I'm so disappointed, marketing and empty promises again😢

The best pillow I have tried is the Retouchpillow, its is so comfortable, like a cradle for your head and its made chemical free.
Also I like that it doesnt have two Big Blocks on each side of your face.. it also comes with a Nice dustbag for travelling..

I am a guy and the omnia is sorts yes no yes no yes no for me, if you happen to reposition yourself with your head too low at the edge of the pillow then you have the bulky lower size in your cheeks and that just increased the lines under my eyes, also I find it too thin and wish they offered additional layers to modify the overall height. I do love the feel of their foam though and then there are days when I think it works perfectly lol….there are some versions of pillows shaped like giant donuts, so essentially circle shaped pillows with a cutout in the middle that I would like try as I haven't found the perfect solution yet…

I got the pillow 2 days ago and am liking it so far, it does take getting used to, and I'm wiggling and trying to see what works for me. The tencel case that comes with it isn't as soft as my satin cases and it's a shame they don't sell satin cases. I just can't justify the cruelty behind the silk industry 🙁 I will never own anything made from silk, but I heard satin is comparable.

I might try the silk. Might be good for puffiness.
I have a firm Emma pillow. I go to chiropractor once a month and want good neck support.
Also sleeping on your back is bad for your lower back. So put a pillow under your bum to support your pelvis. 👍🏼
When you sleep on your side put a pillow between your knees.

I trained myself to sleep on my back. Soooo much better. Took quite a long time but finally actually sleep so much better. I use a 7inch wedge and 2 pillows under my knees.
I tried all of the different sleep pillows and the only thing that didn’t crease my face was back sleeping. My boss has really severe permanent sleep creases from sleeping on his side and back.

    Well, you asked.
I use Frownie-like patches on my 11 lines overnight and have been very pleased. I began about five years ago in the final decade of my working career when the 11 lines I already had began to multiply into 111111, etc., lines. The patches eliminated the fresh new lines but only kept the older, already-established 11 lines from getting deeper. I've been ok with that.
On me, the patches work best on expression lines. They keep the area wrinkle free during use, so they give the skin in that location a break. A person who could also do something to stop making the wrinkle-causing expression during the day (relaxation? greater awareness? face yoga?) might be able to see a significant reduction in older wrinkles.
The patches I use most of the time are polyethylene with an adhesive, although I've used different brands. They're triangular with rounded corners. Circular and small curved sausage shapes also seem to work, at least on my 11 lines. I tried but didn't like the silicone patches you seem to have used. I didn't have the trouble with their adhesion that some people reported, but I preferred the others because the reusable silicone patches had to be rinsed and dried every day and I couldn't wear my evening skincare under them. I also didn't like the actual Frownies. Those are or were made with a stiff brown paper backing and weren't as comfortable on me. The Frownies are also more expensive than the ones I use. I have tried patches that lacked a stiffish backing but delivered targeted skincare. These didn't keep my skin from wrinkling, so I count those as fails, at least on me.
I also use two silk pillowcases from Lilysilk that I bought two years ago. These have one silk side and one cotton side. I bought them because I figured they wouldn't be a complete waste if I didn't like the silk to sleep on. I wash them in my washing machine by themselves on a delicate cycle and air dry them. If I wash anything else with them, I put them in a bag. The only really special thing I do is use a detergent that's specifically ok for silk. The pillowcases seem to have helped my hair. I don't have as many breaks and split ends, and I haven't changed anything else significant in my hair care.
I hope this epistle is useful.

Only issue w/“silk” (I.e. slippy satin-y feeling fabrics) is they’re usually made of polyester and are HOT!! I switched from my silk pillowcases to more natural fabrics and it just feels better to sleep cooler. I also bought a Sleep and Glow pillow, and the shape of it did not do what it was intended to do for my neck length. My neck apparently is too short – the bump under the neck hurt my back and I couldn’t even reach the grooves that prevent wrinkles with my face, so my face just squished into the non-indented edges the same as any other pillow. I’ve tried so many and haven’t yet found my favorite.

I’m a great fan of my Blissy silk pillowcases. I’ve bought my daughters one each as well and they love them. They never feel hot or cold or harsh. I wash them in the washing machine on a delicates wash inside a laundry bag and they have been fine. One even survived an inadvertent 40 degree cotton wash!!! I can’t imagine going back to cotton now. Thanks for your great channel.
